Basic Route (4.55 miles/106m of climb) with three excursions (maximum 6.66 miles/150m climb).
All road, one excursion is unlit. Suitable for winter evenings.

Leave Heath (69m) , turning left continuing up Stainland Road out of Greetland towards Stainland.
 
Regroup at the junction with Burrwood Way. (1 mile, 115m)
 
Either (Main)
 Turn left along Burrwood Way. Follow the obvious road through the industrial estate turning left then right onto Rawroyds to the bottom of Broad Carr Lane(possible regroup before hitting the hill
 
Or (adds .2 mile, 38m climb)
 Carry on up Stainland Road, turning left down Station Road (155m), going down to the bottom of Broad Carr Lane
 

Go up Broad Carr Lane (from 115m) past the Rock Inn to the junction (142m) with Mucky Lane on your right.
Either (Main)
 Continue on Hammerstone Leach Lane passing the high point of 155m
Or (adds .29 miles, 37m climb)
 Turn right up Mucky Lane (unlit) turn sharp left, still on Mucky Lane) then bear right (155m), then another sharp left and climb (167m), meeting Blackley Road (179m). Turn left along and then down Blackley Road to the crossroads.
 
Regroup at the crossroads (2 miles, 145m)
 
Across (main) (Right from Blackley Road) and down Victoria Road.
 
Take the third right onto Elsinore Avenue. Follow as it bends left at the end becoming South Parade. Keep on along South Lane, meeting Huddersfield Road. (Regroup 3.15 miles, 95m)
 
Left down to the roundabout go clockwise around the outside of the roundabout, taking the third exit on teh outsideof the co-op and down the Elland-Riorges Link down to the roundabout, and left following Huddersfield Road onto Briggate to the junction of Elland Bridge and Saddleworth Road. Regroup (3.66 miles, 91m)
 
Then Either
 Left along Saddleworth Road and up to the junction (120m)
 Right and down along Rochdale Road to Stainland Road, right and back to Heath
 
or (adds .81 miles)
 Right, over Elland Bridge, left along Halifax Road up onto the Calderdale Way, to the roundabout joining Huddersfield Road, Wakefield Road and Stainland Road, Back along Stainland Road on the smelly mile to Heath.
