Twin Valley coaches have written to me to confirm the coach booking and price. Even though there's been an increase, I can still charge £10 return if we fill all 55 seats. Places are open to anyone; non-runners, friends and members of other running clubs etc. If we can't fill the seats there will be a small price increase, but I was turning people away last year, so it's unlikely. As last year, any surplus money raised will be donated to Overgate Hospice - I sent them a cheque for £140 after last year's trip.
We'll be setting off from Heath Rugby Club at 6am (yes, 6am Johnny). Park your cars up the road in West Vale car park as there may be a rugby match on that day. I've arranged a second pick-up at Tesco's in Brighouse around 6:15am if that suits anyone. Just let me know if you prefer this pickup. Tesco's car park is a safe option for leaving your car. I've asked for Dave to drive us again as he seemed to enjoy himself so much, especially with the contingent from Halifax Ladies
As last year, we'll be dropped off near the start and then the driver will take the coach to South Shields and park in the official coach park near to the finish area. You can leave your bags on the coach, so there's no need to use the official baggage buses. As it'll be hours before we can get away after the race due to the volume of traffic, the only sensible option is to go to the Tavistock pub on the sea-front - click here for GoogleMap. This year we'll probably stay in the pub until around 5pm as we were sat in a traffic jam for hours and Brian missed out on valuable drinking time! As a rough guide, we got back to Halifax around 9pm last year.
I'm now taking full £10 payment to secure your place but I will only confirm WHEN I've received your money.
