Lions Running Club of Halifax is a well established group of runners spanning
all levels of ability. At the end of January 2008 our membership
exceeds 300, 65% of whom are female and with an age
range of under 20's to over 70's. Our training covers everything from general fitness
to triathlons. Our activities include road running, trails,
cross-country, fell racing and most important of all; our legendary
social scene - this is the reason we are known as the drinking club with
a running problem! If you have never run before then this is a great
place to start, or if you can run a sub 3 hour marathon we have athletes
& coaches you can train with.
You don't have to be ready for the elite section to join us. It doesn't
matter to us if you're a 5 minute miler, an 11 minute miler, or a complete beginner.
All our members have one
thing in common - we all love to run and socialise.
